MILITARY DEATHS FOR TWENTY EIGHT YEARS
Here are some rather eye-opening facts: Since the start of the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan, the sacrifice has been enormous. In the time period from the invasion of Iraq in March 2003 through now, we have lost over 4,000 military personnel to enemy action and accidents. As tragic as the loss of any member of the US Armed Forces is, consider the following statistics:
The annual fatalities of military members while actively serving in the armed forces from 1980 through 2007:
1980 .......... 2,392 Jimmy Carter's last year (1yr)
1981 .......... 2,380
1982 .......... 2,319
1983 .......... 2,465
1984 .......... 1,999
1985 .......... 2,252 R Reagan years: 17,201 deaths (8 years)
1986 .......... 1,984
1987 .......... 1,983
1988 .......... 1,819
Average/year: 1,882
1989 .......... 1,636
1990 .......... 1,508 GH Bush years: 6,224 deaths (4 years)
1991 .......... 1,787
1992 .......... 1,293
Average/year 1,556
1993 .......... 1,213 - *
1994 .......... 1,075 - *
1995 .......... 2,465 - *
1996 .......... 2,318 - * WJ Clinton years: 14,107 deaths (full 8 years)
1997 ............. 817 - *
1998 .......... 2,252 - *
1999 .......... 1,984 - *
2000 .......... 1,983 - *
Average/year 1,763
* - See Ananymous Comments Below
2001 ............. 890
2002 .......... 1,007 GW Bush years: 7,934 deaths (7 years)
2003 .......... 1,410
2004 .......... 1,887
2005 ............. 919 - **
2006 ............. 920 - **
2007 ............. 901 - From: http://icasualties.org/oif/DeathsByYear.aspx
Average/year 1,134
** - Conflicting information between the Congressional Research Service report and the DOD Military Casualty Information report.
Note that the losses from the two latest conflicts in the Middle East are LESS than the loss of military personnel during Mr. Clinton's presidency; when America wasn't even involved in a war. And, in 1980, during the reign of President (Nobel Peace Prize) Jimmy Carter, there were 2,392 US military fatalities!
These figures indicate that many of our Main Stream Media (MSM) & Politicians will pick and choose. They present only those 'facts' which support their agenda-driven reporting. Why do so many of them march in lock-step to twist the truth? Where do so many of them get their marching-orders for their agenda?
You should note that our Mainstream Print and TV Media, and many Politicians, like to slant that these brave men and women, who are losing their lives in Iraq, are mostly minorities. Wrong - just one more media lie.

Other .......................... 1.38%
-----------------------------------------------------------
Here are the fatalities by Race in Operation Iraqi Freedom (over the past three years):
European descent (white) ....... 74.31%
Hispanic ....................... 10.74%
Black .......................... 9.67%
Asian .......................... 1.81%
Native American ................ 1.09%
Other .......................... 2.33%
These figures don't lie... but, Media-Liars do figure... and unfortunately they sway public opinion.
NOTE: These statistics are published can be confirmed by at:
Congressional Research Service
US DoD - Military Casualty Information
US DoD - Race/Ethnicity Summary
US DoD - Active Duty Military Strength/Deaths (yearly graph)
Now ask yourself these two questions:
1. Why does Mainstream Print and TV Media never print statistics like these?
2. Is it any wonder why Mainstream Print and TV Media hate the web as much as they do?

I got this via email from a personal friend. I checked on the references, and added the 2007 stats from another source. 2007 information is not included in the Congressional or the DOD references.
As a military retiree, I don't wish to spill one drop of American blood. However, our troops certainly deserve to have the truth readily available to the populace.
The media's shameful bias is certainly being exposed by the Web. Please copy this and email it to all of your friends.
Or, send them this link to this posting:
